The UK Center of Excellence in Rural Health (UKCERH) and the Southeast Kentucky Area Health Education Center (AHEC) in conjunction with Southeast Kentucky Community & Technical College and UK College of Medicine host an annual Health Career Summer Enrichment Camp held at the UKCERH in Hazard. Our mission is to provide a unique learning opportunity to motivate, encourage, and spark an interest in a student to further their education and pursue a career in the ever-growing and advancing field of healthcare. The camp will introduce incoming freshman and sophomore high school students to a variety of health careers. Students will have the opportunity to observe and shadow healthcare professionals at work; participate in a variety of hands-on activities, tour the University of Kentucky Campus; visit the UKCERH Gross Anatomy Lab; and participate in numerous education opportunities which will better prepare them for a healthcare career.
